I love this battle. This is going to be a great next couple of weeks.

I couldn’t get inside the barriers on the final climb yesterday, so I laid down in a puddle, stuck my head and shoulders underneath the barriers, and gave it a try. The picture isn’t anything special, but I will always remember that one time in that one place, crammed between pavement and metal, soaking wet from head to toe. As an aside: I think we will be seeing a lot more from these two over the next twelve stages - can’t wait to see this unexpected duel unfold. #tdf

Peter Sagan and Zdenek Stybar braving the weather en route to their respective national road champion titles… Yes, Slovakia and the Czech Republic Nationals are run together in a single race. It was an unsurprising 4th straight title for Sagan and a 1st on the road for Stybie (he has a collection of cross titles though).
